Chinese numbers

How high can you count in Chinese language? Numbers are usually a useful thing to know –  for the time ,your age and distances basically, Here are the numbers from 0-10:

For example:

Nǐ jǐ suì le
你几岁了?
A:How old are you?

Wǒ liù suì
我六岁.
B:I’m six years old.

Jǐ diǎn le
几点了?
A:What time is it now?

Bā diǎn
八点
B:Eight o’clock.

Some other cardinal numbers as below you have to remember for counting:

  •                        1           One                      一(yī)
  •                      10           Ten                       十(shí)
  •                    100          One hundred     一百(yī bǎi)
  •                 1,000          One thousand   一千(yī qiān)
  •          1,000,000          One million        一百万(yī bǎi wàn)
  •   1,000,000,000          One billion         十亿(shí yì)

And ordinal numbers are those that we always use to talk about the order of things,it is called”diji” in Chinese language,only simply add di before each number,for example:

Zhè gè cí zài dì yī duàn zhōng.
这个词在第一段中.
The word comes in the first paragraph.

wǒ shì zhè pái dì sì gè rén.
我是这排第四个人.
I was the fourth person in line.

Here are the first ten ordinal numbers:

第一 First      1st               第六 Sixth           6th

第二 Second  2nd            第七 Seventh    7th

第三 Third    3rd              第八 Eighth        8th

第四 Fourth   4th              第九 Ninth          9th

第五  Fifth     5th               第十 Tenth         10th
