You probably know the word “rou” in Chinese language. It means meat. We sometimes combine the word “rou” with animals.It is often expressed which kind of meat. For example, if we say beef, we can say “niurou” which is formed by animal cattle add the word “rou”.If you read Chinese menus, you’ll often just see 鸡 (jī)，鱼（yú）and 羊（yáng） with the rou left implicit.
