Can you say all the Chinese words for the meals that we eat in one day? Most people usually eat about three main meals every day, but South China often have other meals that are very popular in China, here are six words for main and other meals that we often use:

早餐(zǎocān ) breakfast
The first meal of the day. About 6am-8am.

早茶( zǎochá) early morning tea
A meal eaten around 9am. A snack (for example, biscuits, bread and black tea). (Informal)

午餐(wǔ cān)lunch
A meal in the middle of the day. About noon or 1pm.

下午茶(xià wǔ chá ) afternoon tea
A light afternoon meal of sandwiches, cakes etc, with a drink of tea or coffee. About 2pm-4pm. It is also sometimes called afternoon tea.

晚餐(wǎn cān) dinner
The main meal of the day, eaten in the evening. Usually when people say “dinner”, they mean an evening meal, about 7pm-9pm.

夜宵( yè xiāo) midnight snack.
An extra meal in the midnight.About 9pm-11pm.
